The entry to high-end analog, the Clearaudio Concept AiR turntable sets a new standard in turntable manufacturing. Precision German engineering combined with the latest technology and timeless design signal a new era in analog playback.
Made in Germany, the Concept AiR is belt-driven by the new low-noise, decoupled AiR air-core DC 12-volt motor built into the resonant-optimized plinth. The new AiR motor is similar to the air-core DC 24-volt motor used in the Reference Jubilee, Innovation, and Ovation. This new, vastly improved motor provides superior performance and speed stability for greater dynamics, even better imaging, and more musicality. The platter is machined from 30mm-thick polyoxymethylene (POM), an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. The platter interfaces with a stainless-steel sub-platter polished tempered steel bearing shaft within sintered bronze bushings, and a mirror-polished Teflon thrust pad.
The Concept AiR plays at three speeds – 33rpm, 45rpm, and 78rpm – selectable by the Electronic Speed Control knob. The Concept AiR is equipped with the innovative Satisfy Black tonearm, which is ideal for the factory-mounted Concept MM or MC cartridges. Upgrade to the Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm to optimize performance with the Maestro v2 or Charisma MM cartridges and top MC designs. without cartridge.
